План- конспект уроку-диспуту на тему « Проблеми довкілля».(10 кл.)




Objectives: to practice pupils’ group work; to revise and enrich pupils’ vocabulary on the topic ; to revise grammar material;  to improve pupils’ speaking  skills; to stimulate pupils’ creative thinking.
Equipment: books, pupils’ projects and presentations,
notebook.
Procedure

I. Greeting. Aim.
T. :  Good afternoon.We continue to talk about  the
environment. Today we are going to talk about the
problems of the environment and about the THREE RS we should remember, we’ll learn  new vo-
cabulary and revise the passive voice.
 II.Warming up.
 T. I think we shall start our lesson with the motto
written on the blackboard.
             The Earth does not belong to man;   
                  Man belongs to the Earth.
                                                                        C. Seattle.
T.: How can you comment it? (pupils’ answers) 
III.Main part.
1.  Check-up homework. Presentation pupils’ projects.
 T.: At the previous lesson we talked about the endangered species. At home you had to find some interesting information about some of them and do a project. And now I want you to present them.(pupils present their projects)
Discussing  pupils’ projects.
T. : So, let’s summarize.
- What  species are in danger nowadays?
- Why are they endangered?
- What is being done to protect them?
- What endangered species in Ukraine can you name?
2. Learning new vocabulary.
T.: Open your books at p.117 and let’s read NV
(the teacher explains and the pupils guess  the meanings of the words)

 T. Now let us make up sentences with your new vocabulary( pupils in turn make up sentences to foster new vocabulary)
T.  If you care about the environment you should remember the THREE  RS, that is

3. Watching the pupils’ presentation “ The Earth is in danger”.
 A. Pre-watching activity.
T. Now we are going to watch the presentation on the topic “ The Earth is in danger”. But first I want you to answer the fallowing questions:
- What is the environment?(pupils’ answers)
   -Why scientists  are talking  so much about the environmental problems today?
-What kinds of pollution do you know?
-Can we do anything to save our environment clean?
What personally can you do?
B.Pupils watch and comment each slide.
T. – What role do forest play in our life? (pupils’ answers)
T.- What is the worst enemy of a forest?( pupils’ answers)
T.- What is acid rain? What is it caused by?(pupils’ answers)
T.- What is air pollution lead to?( pupils’ answers)
T. What is global warming?(pupils’ answers)
T. –Where are rainforests found? What will happen if people destroy them?( pupils’ answers)
T.- Why water in the seas, rivers and oceans  is so polluted ?(pupils’ answers)
T.- What does water pollution lead to?( pupils’ answers)
4. Revising grammar material( Present Indefinite Passive)
T. When we talk about the environment we
often use the Present Passive Voice
