It’s Halloween
It’s Halloween! It’s Halloween!
The moon is full and bright.
And we shall see what can’t be seen
On any other night!
Skeletons and ghosts and ghouls
Grinning goblins fighting duels
Were
wolves rising from their tombs,
Witches on their magic brooms.
In masks and gowns we haunt the street
And knock on doors for trick or treat.
Tonight we are the king and queen,
For all tonight it’s Halloween!
(after that comes witch’s dancing)
Good evening, dear guests. Welcome to our party!
In Europe the night of the ghosts and witches was combined with the Christian holiday. As that night fell on October 31, people called it Halloween. The word itself, "Halloween," actually has its origins in the Catholic Church. But, in the 5th century BC, in Celtic Ireland, summer officially ended on October 31. The holiday was called Samhain (sow-en), the Celtic New year.
On Halloween, people often go to the parties at which fortunes are read and ghosts stories are told. Children may dress up in the costumes and masks of witches, goblins or skeletons and go trick – or – treating. They ring doorbells and ask for candy, apples, or coins.
If they don’t receive a treat, they may play a trick.
At night on October 31 witches fly on their broomsticks, skeletons rattle their bones, ghosts frighten people, Jack – O’ – Lanterns walk around houses, black Halloween cats play tricks with us.
(Behind the speaker in the back of the stage there appears a “ghost”, listening to what she says, moves quietly and disappears.)
Halloween is one of the oldest celebrations in the world, dating back over 2000 years to the time of the Celts who lived in Britain
Halloween is also known by other names:
All Hallows Eve
The Feast of the Dead
The Day of the Dead
When Christianity came to England and the rest of Europe, 1 November became All Saints Day – a day dedicated to all those saints who didn't have a special day of their own
It is thought that the colours orange and black became Halloween colours because orange is associated with harvests (Halloween marks the end of harvest) and black is associated with death.
Halloween customs today follow many of ancient practices. When children wear costumes, false faces, or witches’ hats, bob for apples or carry jack-o-lanterns they are carrying on ancient traditions.
Witches prepared different potions  and told magic spells:
Bubbling, bubbling, bubbling pot
Add some bat wings and then what?
Mix and mix until you’ve got
A new monster ugly and hot.
Bubbling, bubbling, bubbling pot,
Turn a rat into a frog,
Turn a cat into a log,
Bubbling, bubbling, bubbling pot.
Well, now we know that witches fly on their brooms, and what about Jack – O’ – Lantern?
The jack-o-lantern, most typical of Halloween symbols, began with the Irish. According to legend a man named Jack was expelled from Hell for playing tricks on the devil. He was to walk the earth forever carrying a lantern to light his way waiting for Judgment Day.
Modern jack-o-lanterns are made from big orange pumpkins.
Look, here it is. (Jack – O’ – Lantern appears)
Jack – O’ – Lantern – Hi everybody. My name is Jack, you know. I’ve been wandering around the Earth for hundreds of years. I am so tired. People don’t like me, but I want to talk to them. I am so glad to have come to your party. One of the ancient traditions on Halloween was story telling. I know so many interesting stories and I won’t go until I tell you one of them.
Now light the candles in your pumpkins, switch off the light and listen to my story.
(Tells the story and comes closer to the spectators)
Once upon a time there lived an old woman. She sat by the fire and she spun waiting for someone to come. But no one came. Soon there was a knock at the door and the door opened and in came two big shoes, two long thin legs, some wide, wide shoulders, some long thin arms, two fat hands and in rolled a pumpkin head.
She looked at someone and said:
Why do you have such big, big shoes?
Much walking, much walking, – said someone.
Why do you have such long thin legs?
Much running, much running.
Why do you have such wide shoulders?
Much carrying, much carrying.
Why do you have such fat, fat hands?
Much working, much working.
Why are you here? What is it you want?
I came to get……….YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
(Jack – O’ – Lantern screams, scares students and goes away.)
Isn’t it fun to scare somebody at the Halloween Party!
Well, one more guest is coming to us.
Old Lady Witch:
Oh – ho, I am so tired, my poor legs. They hurt me and want to rest. Oh, can’t believe my eyes! So many people! Recognize me? I am Old Lady Witch. Well, it is a good opportunity to tell everybody that I am not so ugly as they think. I have a big, soft and a warm heart. Don’t be afraid of me. I’ll tell you, girls, how to see your future husbands on Halloween.
Go alone into a dark room where there is a looking glass. Eat an apple before it and at the last mouthful the face of your future husband will be seen peeping over your shoulder.
If you peel an apple and throw the parings over the left shoulder look at what form the peel has taken. It may be the initials of the man you are to marry.
If you drop two needles into a bowl of water, you can tell by the way they move in the water whether you and your lover will come together
Well, that is not enough for today, but I have to go. Good – bye everybody, enjoy your Halloween and have a good fright.
(Goes away.)
1. – Well, well, well the time for fun has come. We have a lot here to enjoy. Apples were once thought to be a link between men and the Gods and were often used to tell the future. By putting an apple under your pillow you could dream a wish and eat the apple in the morning. Later people began to use apple in games.
2.  Now it’s time to play games.

Trick 'O' Treat!
1. Now we want to tell you a few words about trick’o’treating.
Soul caking
People wanted to welcome the friendly spirits so they baked special soul cakes for them. When children came dressed in their costumes on All Hallow's Eve, they were given soul cakes.
Soul-Cake’s Song
Soul, soul, for a souling cake,
I pray, good missus, a souling cake.
Apple or pear, a plum or a cherry,
Any good thing to make us all merry.
The history of "Trick 'O' Treating" can be traced back to the early celebrations of All Soul's Day in Britain. The poor would go begging and the housewives would give them special treats called "soulcakes". This was called "going a-souling", and the "soulers" would promise to say a prayer for the dead.
Over time the custom changed and the town's children became the beggars. As they went from house to house they would be given apples, buns, and money.
Some people think that this led to asking for treats on Halloween in verses or rhymes. Such as:
Deal out, Deal out,
The witches are out!
Or:
Trick or treat, you're so neat.
Give me something good to eat.
Nuts and candy, fruit and gum.
I'll go away if you give me some.
Trick – or – treaters have come to our party either to get treats from you or play tricks on you. It’s better to accept their mischief in good humor. If you have a coin, or a sweet, or anything else better give it to them, otherwise…..
(Old Lady Witch, Jack and others go trick – or – treating).
2. And now we’d like you to listen to some music.
(Young witch sings a song .)
1. Our party is coming to the end and we invite all of you to take part in “Halloween Fashion Show”.

Spot and the Chickens

Spot is a little dog. He is black and white. He lives in a little doghouse. Spot likes to play. He wants to have somebody to play with.
He sees three little yellow chickens. He wants to play with the chickens. Spot runs after the chickens. The chickens run away from Spot and say, "Peep, peep, peep ..."
Spot runs and jumps, but the chickens don't want to play with Spot. They say, "Peep, peep, peep..."
Mother Hen sees Spot. She runs up to Spot and pecks him on his black nose. Little Spot says, "Bow, wow-ow..."
Now Spot doesn't want to play with the chickens.

                                                      The Fox and the Crow

A Crow once sat in a tree. She had a large piece of cheese in her mouth. She wanted to eat it, but suddenly she saw a Fox. The Fox came up to the tree. He looked up and saw the Crow. He saw the cheese also. The Fox wanted to get the cheese.
“How beautiful you are, Mrs. Crow! What big eyes you have. What a pity you cannot sing.”
The Crow opened her mouth and said: “Of course I can sing. Car-r! Car-r!”
When the Crow opened her mouth, the piece of cheese fell out. The Fox ran up to the cheese and quickly ate it up.
“Thank you very much,” said he. “The cheese was good and you sang well. What a pity you don’t think well!”

                                    Two Birds and a Frog

The Frog lived in a lake. It had two friends, two big birds. But one day birds wanted to go to another lake.
“My good friends take me with you,” said the frog. “All right,” said one of the birds. “Do you see this stick? I shall take one end of the stick; my friend will take the other end.  And you must take the stick in your mouth in the middle. But you must not speak! Do not open your mouth!”
“All right!” said the frog. So one bird took one end of the stick in its beak. Another bird took the other end. The frog took  the stick in its mouth in the middle.
And they flew to another lake. When they flew they saw many children in the field. And the children saw the birds too.
“Oh, look!” they cried. “What is it? What are the birds carrying? Is it a big clock?”
The frog opened the mouth and said: :”I am not a clock? I am a frog!” And flop! The frog fell down to the ground.
      What a silly frog!

                                                 The Lion and the Mouse

The Lion, who is very tired after his day's work, is sleeping in the forest. The Mouse runs over him and awakes him. The Lion is very angry, and he lays his paw upon the little Mouse. He wants to kill her, but the Mouse asks him not to do it.
She asks so hard that the Lion lets the Mouse go. The little Mouse is very thankful. "Noble Lion, I may help you some day," says the Mouse. The Lion laughs. How can such a little animal help him!
Some days later the Lion falls into a net. He tries to get free, but the net is very strong, and he cannot do it. The Lion roars with pain. The little Mouse hears his voice, and runs to him. She sees the Lion in the net and wants to help him. She works with her sharp teeth for a long time. At last the little Mouse bites the rope through and sets the Lion free.

MONDAY

Her  hair`s long. She isn`t tall.
Her blouse is beautiful and new.
Her shoes are very small and blue.
These are her raincoat and her umbrella.
She`s got a dress like Cinderella.
Those are her sweater and her bag.
The sweater is green and the bag is black.
                  Miss Poppins
Miss Poppins is a teacher.
She teaches all day long.
She speaks and asks,
And gives the tasks.
And then recites the rhyme:
“I`m a super teacher.
I teach kids all day long.
I speak and ask
And give the task
Recite with me this rhyme”.
              My doggy
My doggy is funny
My doggy is small.
It likes to jump,
To run , to roll
About the carpet, like a ball.
It never bites me
Not at all.
             My friend
I`ve got a friend
We like to play
We play together every day.
He always helps me
When I`m in need.
For he`s my friend
Good friend indeed.
         About me
I have two eyes
And I can see
A book and a pen
In front of me.
Ten little fingers
Ten little toes
Two little ears
And one little nose.
             Birds
Some birds are yellow
And some are white.
Big birds are heavy
Little ones are light.
Some birds fly fast,
Some birds fly slow.
Others don`t fly,
They just stay law.(ходять по землі)
          A good rule
Mind the clock and keep the rule
Try to come in time to school.
Early to bed , early to rise
Makes a manhealthy,
Wealthy and wise.
       A happy family
I have a father
I have a mother.
I have a sister
I have a brother.
Father, mother,
Sister, brother
Hand in hand
With one another.
       Shopping
A bear and a bunny
Have much money.
They go to the shop
For carrots and honey.
When the bear and the bunny
Ask for some carrots and honey,
The man in the shop says:
“Where is your money?”
How strange and funny
They really have money.
     Little Mouse
Little mouse, little mouse,
Where is your house?
Little cat, little cat,
     I have no flat
          I am a poor mouse
           I have no house.
Little mouse, little mouse
     Come to my house.
Little cat, little cat,
I can`t do that. You will eat me.
