Procedure
I. Warming-up
1. T.: There is a good English proverb “A man reveals in his work”. It means that it’s very important to lead a proper way of life. So today we are going to speak about lifestyles and daily routines, talk about personal and imaginary interests and activities at weekends, develop awareness about life of people in different countries and of course we’ll practice using present tenses.
2. Wordsearch “Lifestyles”. When we speak about lifestyles we use a lot of adjectives to describe them. You are to find 12 adjectives in your
card (HO1) and with their help make sentences about your lifestyle or the lifestyles of your friends, relatives or celebrities.

2. Practice daily routines. Pair work.
Imagine you live in one of the places below.
• A mansion in Hollywood
• A colony on another planet
• A scientific base in Antarctica
• A cabin in the forests or mountains
• An eco-protesters’ camp
• A space station
• A desert island
Write notes about your daily routines. Then take turns to tell your partner about your daily routines and try to guess where he or she lives.
Control: orally
3. Listening practice. Watch a video
“ Americans todaytoday” and tell what you think about the life of Americans.
Control: What surprised you most? How is American lifestyle different from the English one?
4. Practice weekend activities.
Brainstorming: what activities do you usually have at weekends?
Tell the class what do you usually do at your weekends. Don’t forget to use the words of preferences : prefer, enjoy love like quite like
don’t like, hate, can’t stand…
Look at weekend activities and say what day of the week do you think an 18-year-old student does this?
Then listen to an interview, check your predictions and complete the table.
